FMCSC

I love our denomination and especially our conference.  There are people of all ages, backgrounds, colors and countries represented. I met a new friend named Jason who likes to create his own shirts. He made this one to wear especially for this weekend, but you have to understand what Calvinism is to appreciate the humor. He also made one that says John Wesley is my homeboy!

Check this out!

Been inspired lately from Tim Benar's podcast so these are from his audioblog.

According to Benny Hinn's wife at a recent meeting, we need a "Holy Ghost Enema" .

And how would you feel if you visited a church one Sunday, and they asked you to leave?

Church insists on people leaving

" THE MEETING House, a Brethren In Christ multi-site congregation that calls itself a "church for people who aren't into church," regularly invites those who don't want to "get in" to their church by making a demonstrable commitment, to "get out."

Known to church staff by the tongue-in-cheek label "purge Sundays," the invitation "to get in or get out" is viewed as a mechanism to address "Christian tourism."

Teaching pastor Bruxy Cavey admits "purge Sundays" were his idea. "Evangelical Christians can be a trendy bunch, always looking for the good deal and where the action is," he explains. "The more we have grown as a church, the more we have attracted tourists who come to check us out and will attend for some time, but never consider The Meeting House their home church. We don't think that's healthy for them -- to be a voyeur on church life, rather than a healthy, active, committed participant in church life. "So we started to ask them to leave."

What does your name mean?

Ok, so I have been thinking about personal stuff since yesterday was my birthday. Check out this site, it's called kabalarians  and it describes your personality through explaining what your name means. It can be so accurate, it's almost scary!

Here is what my name Benjy means:

"Although the name Benjy creates an active mind and a restless urge to explore new ideas, we emphasize that it causes procrastination, lack of confidence, and the inability to realize your goals and ambitions.  The name of Benjy has given you a very imaginative, creative mind. You always have new ideas, but too often they are for an easy way out of a difficulty, or an easy way of making money. You are not inclined to apply yourself consistently to a job and to reach the fulfilment of your goals through perseverance and hard work."

How accurate is yours?

Celebrity Death Trios

Ny118_obit_reevesff

It has happened again. Whenever a famous person dies, they always die in threes. Famous people die in threes. Like I read on another site, I  believe this phenomenon is more powerful than coincidence, more pervasive than a conspiracy, and more interesting than a law of physics.

Here are the rules: The three deaths must be close to each other: generally less than a month from the first to the last. And the three celebrities must be somehow equivalently famous or otherwise linked.  This is not always as easy to identify as one might first think. Sometimes it isn't always obvious and sometimes so many people die so soon to each other that the trios see to overlap.

I put a little time and research into this project, so here is a partial list for that will hopefully peak your curiousity and maybe make you want to do your own research. And for those of you who are skeptical, please browse through this list as well.
