Well, its been a few days since I've posted. Its late Saturday night (at least it feels late) and we returned from our outreach trip a few hours ago. We went to the Navajo Nation, the largest Indian reservation in the country. Its something my pastor has been doing for years and it was my second time going. We had a team of 9 go, mostly teens including a few who just graduated.
I have been ranting and raving lately about church. I am going through a personal phase, trying to deconstruct the meaning of church. And that didn't stop this week in New Mexico, it only increased. We had a conversation that started around the campfire and lasted until after 2 am. It was such an incredible experience, bonding together and having fun, hiking, climbing cliffs. It was also the first time a few of our members had distributed food to the poor. What an experience, watching God work through us to show His love to others. Helping others can transform us like nothing else.
