Today has been one of the best in a really, really long time. Out of nowhere, I get an email from one of my best friends and he was going to be a few hours from me b/c of work. Rodney is a musician and we have known each other since like 6th grade. He lives in the Dallas area, where we moved from, and was going to be in Fresno, not quite 4 hours away. So I jumped in the sunfire and grabbed the ipod!
The 6 hours we spent went by so quickly. Its been 2 and 1/2 years since we have seen each other. He has recently been going through a faith/identity crisis. Its causing problems in his marriage and it was great to be able to listen and share about where I have been. It also helped me remember why we are doing what we are at paradox. We also saw the movie white noise, which was surprisingly good. And if you ever get a chance to eat at Elephant Bar, do it.
He was telling me about a panel of religious leaders he saw on Larry King. They were asked their response to the tsunamni. He related more to what the Eastern religious leaders were saying than the Southern Baptist.
